Angry twin cam still misfiring again, running on 1 cylinder...

First thing I did was relocate the power commander under the seat about two weeks ago, thought the problem was solved it ran perfect after that. I did ride in the rain a day or two ago and now it runs worse than before. Could it still be the pcIII? When I run the bike hard it seems to run better. Once I let off the throttle is when it goes back to running on one cylinder. It does try to run on one cylinder sometimes at idle as well. All of this makes me think its an intake leak by the sound of it.

Check the ECM connector. May be wet, where did you mount the connector?

What he said man if any water gets into that connector your bike will do just that. Mine will just stall out @ idle if the connector is wet. I have to keep revving it at stop lights and ride like I stole to get home, disconnect that plug blow it out and get back out on the road minutes later like nothing ever happened. You can even do it without going home if you can get the plug apart by hand.

It's not a fouled spark plug, is it? When's the last time you looked at them?

Since dielectric grease is non-conductive, do not get it in the contacts.

Lots of things about dielectric grease that keeps me from using it period, it can also breakdown some compounds. Read the manufacturers warnings. BTW, I have been a Licensed Journeyman Electrician for nearly 30 years.
Personally I have never used it on my bikes ever, there is no need when you install the right way.
Never used it when I had a PCIII and rode in a lot of heavy rain without a single issue.
My philosophy has always been, never put bandaids on that mask a problem, fix the real problem.

Hi Guys,
(Noob here )

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread. I too have a similar probelm to this,
I have a 98 dyna sport, and although the bike starts, it won't idle unless I rev it, it sounds lumpy and I don't think the rear pot is firing properly.

The bike was working fine until I washed it. If it is water that has caused this problem I'm amazed. I don't use a hose or pressure washer, just good old bucket and sponge

I've been riding the same bike now for just over 2 years and have had to do little to it, pretty good as I'm an all around year rider, in the NE of England, thats not too shabby .
I have a clymer manual and without success have not been able to locate where the ECM is , or what it looks like.

I've read a few of the other posts on your amazing forums and now have the seat off and am trying to locate it myself.

Any help is much appreciated and I will try and post pics if this helps.

Thanks,
Gus
