Default Need input on engine upgrades

Thinking of putting in the following into my 2006 SB TC88, Headquarters #0039 Cyclone cam,Compensator Kit,Performance Clutch,Diaphragm Spring,EFI Super Tuner Kit,Cam Drive Gear Reten,Cam Plate Support Kit,Tappet Lifter,HD Quick Install Pushrods,Cam Service Gasket Kit. I want to also change the intake but the Heavy Breather hits my knee and would need another style. Anyone else that has done this let me know how you liked the changes or should I do more. I am staying with my V&H SSS Exhaust. The local Dyno tuner said I would be better off with a 2-1 system but I like the look. My riding style is 0-90 and then cruise at 70. I only have 7K on the bike. I want better throttle response. TY in advance.

you must have a massive wallet if your going to do all that just to get better throttle response , all you need to do is throw in a K & N free flow air filter and get your carbs re jetted , job done and very cheap.... , maybe a set of slip on free flow mufflers , and you,ll be singing ,
that will more than do you to 90 mph , and cruise at 70 , who,s giving you the advice ....? is it the guy who will be taking all the money off you ?

now if you wanted the fastest bike on your block ...thats a different matter

sorry i missed the fact its an EFI , do the super tuner instead of the jets ....lol

Drop a power pulley on it, that will make night and day diff for you, also SE or barnett clutch spring... what are you running on the bike now (intake/pipes/tuner) ... mad dog he has a 2006 so he has EFI,
don depending on your tuner you may also want to look into 12* injectors step up form the 8* we got in our bikes... but depending on the tuner you can compensate for this...

I've learned so much from this forum...and most here know more than I, but I'm a huge fan of a 30 tooth primary sprocket...peps the bike right up. I geared down my 1200S and all my Triumphs back in the day.

Try it, you'll like it.

A free flowing intake and exhaust and a good tuner with a dyno tune from someone that knows what they are doing will deliver enough power to satisfy your riding style. The cam stuff is a nice upgrade from the chain drive stockers and the clutch stuff is just a waste of money on an otherwise stock engine. Don't waste your money on unnecessary parts.

That is too much cam for a stock engine. That cam wants a lot more compression, more displacement, head work and maybe bigger springs. I forget the lift specs on it, but isn't it like .590? If you are set on a HQ cam, look at the 0034. Otherwise check out an Andrews TW37. With a stock motor you want to keep your intake close below 40*. The lower the more torque. Since you like the 0-90, closer to 40 will be ok.

Waste of money without head work.also that cam is to big..tw 36 or 37 would work as john said, also se cam plate since its already going to cost plenty you might as well go all the way, clutch spring???

If it's an 06 you might want to spend some money on a new inner primary bearing before all the go-fast stuff. I've never messed with cams myself, but I think there are end-play issues with the crank when you switch to gear driven cams.

THX for the all the info. No,I dont want to waste $ but want to do everything at once. Maybe I should go all the way and have and have it ported ,polished, balanced, primary bearing, etc.I am going back to the drawing board..... By the way TY to Surdyke HD because they are saving me big $ on parts.
