Default Speedo Relocation

Hi all. New to the forum and just picked up my first Harley, an 08 FXD this weekend. I've already got a vision in mind, one of them includes relocating the speedo down behind, possibly onto the tank like the FXDC and WGs. Is that possible? Also another stupid question... the very large majority of WGs that I see have a little baby sized sissy bar... is that something that comes from the factory like that or are those acc that can be bolted on
Any and all input would be much appreciated! thanks!!!

Not sure what type of bars you are using, or planning to use, but I flipped the speedo on my 05 FXD when I installed my T bars. I just picked up an older style gage mount off eBay (similar to the stock piece on my bike but without the integrated riser clamp) and used clutch cable clamps to mount it under the bars. It just clears the tank when I turn the bars, but looks pretty slick!

I am interested in seeing pics of this...and what type of gauge mount did you use?

Ik3k9, I believe the mount was for 95 and later sporty or 95-04 superglides. It is the thin gage chrome cup that is ment to go in front of the bars. I just modified it so that I could mount it over the tank. It worked well and also gives you a place to mount the idiot lights so you don't have to lose them.

I'll try to post a pic tonight when I get home. Not sure how to post pics from my phone.

Www.jokermachine.com that's the one I use. Works great. Nice dealing with them too.
