Default Roland Sands Gas caps

I tried in the general forum with no luck.

Does anyone have Roland Sands Designs gas caps? I'm looking for feedback with the left side (fuel gauge).

The old design did not offer a fuel gauge, but what other drawbacks are there? Does the miles to go still work and does the low fuel light still work?

I have the RSD caps. Remove circuit board from the HD cap and just leave it under the new dummy cap or whatever else you are using to cover the hole. Low fuel light, fuel remaining meter and everything else works fine. 15 minute job, max.

Good to know that you can remove the circuit board and the low fuel light will still work. I'm running the Dakota digital guage and the RSD dummy cap so right now my low fuel light does not work. I'm going to try this tonight and if I can get my low fuel light to work on my Dakota I may cancel my order for the new RSD cap that has the LED fuel light.

I did this exact thing last night. I'm still waiting for my gas cap, but i did install the dummy side last night. The circuit board fits great under the cap.

Ok, how do you remove the circuit board? I've pulled the dummy cap out and removed the two screws in the gas gauge circuit. The white part (circuit) will not seperate from the cap. I don't want to pull all the wiring out in accordance with the manual.

Anyone?

Advise please guys

Have removed the circuit board and fitted it inside my RSD dummy cap for the left side but now have the low fuel light flashing permanently and the LO RNG read out on the speedo display, even after filling the tank. What have I done wrong? 2012 Street Bob

Thanks
Nick

Forgot to mention. Between fitting in the winter and 1st ride yesterday the battery went flat so I had to put it on charge for a day. Im not sure I was getting the low wrg light and the LO RNG before the battery issue so is it something to do with the electronics that could be cleared with a fault reset?

Thanks again

i would just use it as a dummy cap and then buy the console gauge that has the fuel gauge built onto it.
