Default HELP! Front Headlight

I have a 06 fxdli and the front headlight is starting to fade really quickly ( I'm planning on doing a lot of night ride this summer) I was wondering is there's a as ''bright'' option to replace my frontlight instead of paying 400$ for the HD one?

Try changing the bulb to a Sylvania (sp?). Thats the cheapest option. Brightest would be a HID, cheaper than the LED and can be brighter. May have to place the ballast under the gas tank.

hey that was helpful in regards to his question.

to the OP, if you are in a rural area with not a lot of oncoming traffic at night go with an HID, if you do see a lot of cars on the road go with the Sylvania bulb upgrade...you will **** off many oncoming motorists using the HID option in a stock headlamp assembly.

Thanks a lot Donn and ***** I'll consider both option (how Bright is the HID? Because I'm planning to ride in the city and in the backcountry too so I'm looking at the best option between the two riding style)

Ynots: Jamieson sure didn't help writting this question haha

To answer your question, I replace mine with a silverstar bulb, it is much brighter than stock.
I am willing to spend $400 for a HD led headlight but I like old school look not a transformer.

FYI, any aftermarket white bulb has a shorter lifespan compare to stock bulb. Here is a ebay link
