Default little sluggish on bottom end. help please

i washed the bike up yesterday. and rode in to work this morning and she feels sluggish on the bottom end. and had a couple higher idles.

dont know if it just started happening or what, i rode saturday with the wife ( no higher idles though) but i dont give it hell wiht her on there. this morning i was romping on it a little and i could tell something wasnt right. seemed to clear up a little but i only had about 4 miles to roll on it before i got to town.

few things it may be?

i live on a dirt road now for the last 5 months. could that be it? clogged filter?

and i just got it painted a little while back. is there a chance of trash in the tank?

anyone use injector cleaner or anything like that or is there a fuel filter in the tank i can change?

i knwo its a lot of ramblin just wanted to let all the factors be considered. thanks

Check for water in ECM connector. It's worth a look

+1 Since you just washed it, wet connections are a possibility.
A clogged air filter can do that, and since it's easy to check and clean (or replace, depending what you have) you should start there. There is also a fuel filter inside the tank.

Don't get distracted with the intake and such, its a really good chance its electrical after a wash.

WD40 is your friend. Check the connectors around the coil, under the seat and behind the fuse cover. Take apart what you can can, squirt and reassemble.

Foxster is probably right. However, I never use WD40 on anything electrical, it leaves a residue. The best thing is electrical cleaner, spray it down good and put some dielectric grease on the connections before putting it back together.

Well, I ruined my last nuclear missile with WD40 and it wasn't covered by warranty.

Damn. Bad luck, mate.

I know a bloke in Iran that'll buy it off you as parts/repair.

Just rode it home and it's idleing high and bottom end isn't strong. Got some electrical cleaner and seafoam incase it's trash in tank. Guess I may check the fuel filter too

Don't forget the dielectric grease while your there.
Whenever I wash my bike with a hose it isn't very happy about it.
