I did not try the steel braided lines on the stock calipers. I never had the zzzz sound with the stock calipers. The stock calipers were a 5 the brembos are a 10. It seems after talking to a few guys here that the switch housing from the Dyna should work with the bagger brake lever and master cylinder as well although I was unable to phenagle it at the time.
Mind you we have later model Dyna's than you have - not sure if the older switches are the same as the later ones.
does the caliper grab the entire sweep area of the rotor, or is there a bit of an overhang? I thought I remember reading that the body of the caliper is just a bit further away and the entire pad doesn't touch the rotor??
Dooley - Your Fat Bob should have braided lines already on it, all the dynas got braided lines after the front end redesign in like 2006-07; when ever they got the larger diameter forks

Are you sure?? they look plastic and there there very thin and feel squishy when you pinch then. they definatly dont look or feel like there braided.
My bike uses DOT 5 fluid stock and the calipers are designed for DOT 4. Since the lines were brand new I cleaned out the master cylinder and used DOT 4. I guess I could have cleaned out the calipers and used DOT 5 instead but this seemed to be a simpler route to take.
I think you were wise to keep the DOT 4 that Brembos use. From what I've read, though DOT 5 is more stable, ( the DOT 5 in my 2000 Road Glide is still the original for example,) the seals in Brembos are not compatible with DOT 5 and therefor Harley chose to go to DOT 4 for that very reason when they brought on the Brembo brakes to HD.
