Default 08 fat bob changed grips wont start

Hey all
I changed my grips on my 08 Fat Bob yesterday, the bike has always been running fine, no problems. This has happened after disassembly of my right and left grip modules.

Ok here goes:
Got the right and left grips back together. Turn the console switch on, I have headlights, low and bright beams and a horn. I have no left or right turn signals, no blinking with the security system either, yet I have the red key on the speedo that blinks intermittently when the bike is off as always.

After turning everything on I hit the run button, there is no fuel pump priming inside the tank, nothing. I go to hit start, there is no clicking, no nothing, no affect or sound, just silence.

I went to the fuse panel and have replaced 8 different 15 amp fuses for each item, fuel pump, lights, etc and replaced the main 40 amp fuse. I have now also replaced the starter relay and the system relay and have the same issue.
No change.

Ive disassembled the right throttle grip as those controls are the ones not working but not seeing anything loose or pinched. I do know the one bonehead move was I had the battery connected while working on everything so Im figuring a short somewhere?

Any takers? This is the second time Ive changed grips and never ran into this the other time.
Thanks
Naz

Any takers out there? Miss

sounds like a pinched wire... loosen up your switch housings and check for pinched wire... you have internally wired bars? that is just what they do when the wire grounds out

bingo found the problem. You nailed it jrk. Found two pinched wires from those controls and just replaced those fuses again. Bike is normal.

Speaking of which, do you ever do powdercoating via fedex or usps?

thanks all life is good again
