Kill switch not working

Kill switch not working
Got to work this morning and went to shut my Bob down with the kill switch and nothing, she kept on running. Turned her off with the key and tried to start her with the switch in the off position. She starts right up.
Anybody have any experiences with other issues rather than a bad switch?
Just glad if it is fried, it is fried in the ON possition!

I have never touched the switch or it's wiring. Still factory, I have not even taken the cover off of it yet.
I can start the bike when the switch is in either the off or on position, which leads me to believe the switch is shot.

My bad, I misunderstood, thought you meant an added switch.
Are your bars internally wired? If not should be easy enough to pull the switch housing and test the switch with an Ohmmeter, but it sounds like you might as well replace it.
If your bars are internally wired do the same, just not as simple.

Bars are not internally wired...yet! I have a call into my stealership looking for a new switch.
Some-one also told me to be careful taking that side apart due to something about a little switch on the brake lever that breaks if you are not careful.
I have never heard of any-one having issues with those switches.

It is not common, the wiring to the kill switch and start switch is spliced inside the wiring bundle, so if the kill is not working it is either a broken wire after that splice or the switch.
See the wiring diagram, open it up, and yes you really need a service manual to explain the brake switch or someone that can explain it better, I do not have stock Harley controls so it has been years since I played with them.
