Default 2010 Wide Glide - possible dyna wobble - searched on it a lot

2010 WG. I had the stock bars and have switched to some 16" ape hangers with 1-1/2" risers. Replaced the riser bushings with poly. 11K on the bike. It did this with stock setup and new set-up so it's not the bars. I haven't tried an interstate run with the windshield off but I might. At 80mph or so it seems like it's wobbling or maybe following the siping lines on the interstate. Or maybe it's just a sidewind as it doesn't happen all the time. Would replacing motor mounts or getting a stabilizer kit reduce this? I understand that wide glides are prone with the front skinny tire to follow those lines and is that what I am experiencing? It's a little un-nerving at these speeds when it slowly kind of wobbles back and forth intermittently. Appreciate any input. Pic of the beastly Glide of Wide. I realize it could be a few other things. I had a burley slammer kit I took off and put the stock back on. I am going to upgrade that in the future (suspension) with some legend revos and progressive springs in the front. New tires will probably help as well.

New engine mounts, Sputhe stabilizers front and rear, GPR steering dampers will sort you out.

Try a highway ride without the windshield before you replace parts. Might not change anything but it's free to try.

Also, on top of what's already been suggested, when it's time to replace the front tire go to a 90/90-21. Fits the stock rim and has a little more contact with the road.

Interested in this because my 2011 with the skinny stock front tire does this also. Question is although it feels a little squirrely, has it ever pitched you off? All of my other bikes have done it so I've just learned to live with it.

Thanks for the info. I am going to the 90/90-21 tire. It has not pitched me off. Just an uneasy feeling of shimmying back and forth a bit. Gonna try to no windshield method and if that's the culprit (or adding to it) I might try some fork lower. The wind with the windshield on blasts air up at me. With a long beard it goes all over my face when not wearing a helmet. Even with the full face I wear the upward wind makes my vision kind of blurry. Just got a sort it out and thanks for all the input.

I looked at the Sputhe stuff. Spendy - but I used to have a couple Buells. Makes a lot of sense!

Ugh, this is an old wives tale. Like "solid wheels will catch the wind and blow you off the road." Skinny tires have been on many, many Harleys and bikes for decades. If this was true, everyone with skinny tires would fly into ditches and crash and burn. Tires are round. They all contact the road the same unless you air down. These aren't car tires with flat contact patch. I have a 48 Special with super fat 130/150 tires and it is way more squirrelly on the road than my WG. I have never felt the WG follow cracks, wobble, or steer itself in seams, except once when crossing a metal grate bridge on a mountain road. Then it danced a bit.

What you are feeling is mostly wind resistance and buffeting, especially at that speed. I can ride with one hand at 70 but 80 I need to hang on more. And I just picked up a windshield which helps a lot above 50mph. But anytime I'm around cars or on the interstate, either bike will get blown around, from all the turbulence but the WG is more solid due to its weight and length. Solo riding with no windshield is very comfortable though. I would check wheel weights, tire condition, and the rubber mounts if it's really that bad.

First wide glide I have owned. The HD Dealer told me about the front tire following the lines on the interstate but I tend to believe what you say as you are not trying to sell me something. BTW - I test drove a couple 2010 wide glides at the dealership to see what they are like. They were asking 15k for each one (around there). They thought they'd give me a good deal and sell me one for $11,500. I found a private deal for $7500. Man - Black Hills Harley Davidson going for the big bucks out here.

I am going to upgrade tires. I wish they had the size I needed in the Michelin Commander II. I like those tires. I've also used Shinko. They are an inexpensive tire but I have had good luck with them. Maybe night dragons? Definitely need new tread right now. Good flat spot in the back .

My '00 has the skinny 21" tire, no wobbles, handles great. If on a grooved road in the process of being resurfaced it gets a little squirrely, but generally so long as the bike continues in a forward direction and doesn't tip over I'm good, no worries.
