Noticed this on my 2011 Street Bob. What would cause this?

Just going by color I would say heat, something bad going on in that side. Something has come apart inside?

Try cleaning it up with some soap. Bet its oil residue. Just might look like heat discoloration.

Just went out and scrubbed it real good with a soapy sponge and scotch pad, nothing. The only thing Ive noticed is a "chattering" noise during low speed braking, but I figured it has something to do with the head tube bearing.

Check to see if there's any oil left in that side.

Will do. I mean, I just turned 4,250 miles, so if there's an issue with the oil I'm going to take it in. Perhaps the seal is no good?

I was thinking the seal rolling in the outer tube. I always like to give a shot of silicone spray on my seals at the start of riding season, done this for 8 years on the 02 FXD and no problems.
