Default Got 7000 miles on rear Metzeler

Kept air pressure at 42 and my hopes that a Metzeler would be the tire I was looking for turned out in disappointment. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. The stock Dunlops on my Fat Bob last 11,000.

I'm hoping the new Michelin Commander II does better. So far it seems so.

Same pressure I am running, 42 rear 40 front. I have around 1500 miles on them, hoping to get more than 7k though. Like you I was getting 10k plus out of Dunlops and they still had decent tread left.

I hope you have better luck than I did.

You actually thought the Metzeler would last longer? Please......it handles better in every aspect from rain to shine...plus rides better.....7k is normal....i get a kick out of people who think things should lasr forever......vet a car tire, that will go 40k for ya...

Expecting it to outlast a 10,000 mile Dunlop is hardly expecting forever. The ride was no better and handling wasn't any different. I think it's funny that so many remark about the huge difference. There isn't one.

This is the first time I've ever heard anything positive about Dunlops on this forum.Don't get me wrong I like em.Got a GT 502 on the back and a 401 on the front right now.Depending on how the 401 wears on the front i may try one on the back next.I ride to work and spend allot of time on the freeway I don't need super sticky tires for that and If I could buy tires that last 20,000 mi I would.

Dunlops = road hazard, and 7k on met's is fine, over here roads are corse and torque in this rides dosent help,

I think our riding styles may be a bit different? not sure what else would account for the contrasting view points,

My stock Dunlop rear tire is getting replaced just now - 14400 miles. Front still has lots of life left.
