Default Who is best builder of Jim's 131 engines?

I have made the decision to put a Jim's 131 in my 2012 Superglide Custom. I am wanting to find out who the best, most experienced, reliable, trustworthy builder is for the Jim's 131 ... someone with lots of experience with this engine and its shortcomings (if any) and who can make the Jim's 131 as absolutely reliable as it can be. I am primarily looking for reliability and a long-lasting engine, not concerned with wringing the last ounce of HP out of it.

All input is welcome and appreciated. Thank you much in advance.

Not sure if a big inch build is synonymous with reliability. Do a search on here or the google machine. There is a lot info on the Jims motors.

Why not get s 120r motor straight from Harley Davidson? should be nearly as reliable as stock and a good warranty. Just my 1 cent.

What I'm talking about is finding someone who is very experienced with making the Jim's 131 crate engine all it can be. Like switching to gear-driven cams, making certain the crank is absolutely true, experienced with which lifters are most reliable in this engine, which roller rockers hold up in this engine, which cams are the best for the type of power I'm looking for, etc.

I have googled quite a lot already, and about the only good recommendation I can find out there so far is Latus Motors in Oregon. I have also found a number of posts saying the Jim's cranks often have excessive run-out, and that the lifters that come with the Jim's engines don't hold up. And all Jim's engines come with chain-driven cams. I am trying to find someone very reputable who really knows their stuff regarding this particular engine and who has done many builds of this engine over time and who KNOWS and that I can TRUST.

Sheesh.. call Jim's already, and find out who buys his engines and builds them up... I'll bet he knows.

Since you are in Washington the closest builder/ indy I know is GMR performance. Steve knows his stuff and I am sure if you called him he would tell what he can or can't do to this crate engine. good luck. ( Tman, Hillside and Protwin would be my other calls) good luck and be prepared for $$$ leaving your wallet!
