Sissy bar for my FXDB?
My wife and kids enjoy riding on the back of my '12 Bob and my wife states her shoulders are sore after an 80 mile ride. I have a Fab Bob on my bike so the family can take rides with me altho its not the greatest seat but better than the stock seat. The seat that comes with the Bob hurts my back after 20 mile ride but not the Fat Bob seat.
I think I need to get a Sissy bar so the kids and wife have back support when riding down the freeway. I realize I may need to get a seat in order to get a Sissy Bar. Looked on the HD site and I see Sissy bars but they all are chromed. Do they make it in Black Demin? I've seen some pics of Bobs with black sissy bars and was wondering if you sent it in for power coating Black Denim?
Here is what I am looking for, Sissy Bar that is of course black denim if possible. Guess I can take the chromed one but would look funny on a denim bike. For riding solo I like to have a sissy bar to have a bag to tie to. But in this case looking for a sissy bar so others can ride with me but I can always tie something to the sissy bar anyways.
I realize I will probably need to get a seat that is made for this sissy bar. So post pics of your FXDB with a Sissy bar and the P/N if you have it.

I don't have any pics at the moment are you looking for a rigid mount bar or quick detachable one . On the rigid sissy bar I would recommend Kevin Jackson or Ray Bowman .They both sell their bars on ebay, and on the seat got to sicksaddles.com

by rigid you mean bars w/o the padding? I looked at the two links on ebay and got me thinking these are without the padding. Are they mainly for looks? I really need some bars so passenger does not have to keep pressing forward bec of the wind. So I think I will need sissy have padding BUT still looking into this.
I guess quick detachables will work. How do they detach? Do you need tools for the detach of sissy bars? Still thinking on this.

the bars are rigid means they attach to the bike to stay ,the bars are made for hd sissy back pads ,quick detach hardware is what I have but if you are goin to leave the bar on most of the time you can get rigid set up alot cheaper and less work ,PLus you can knotch the rigid plates to take them on and off. The quick detach you will need 52124-09 gloss black detachable side plates,53797-09 hadware,if you are gonna run saddle bags at some point you will need this relocate kit 68227-09 if no saddle bags get this relo kit 53968-06c

As far as the seat goes, Like you, my FXDC saddle caused bad pains after 25miles. I went with the old standard that I have used on my other Harleys, the Sundowner dual seat.
Comfortable for rider and pillion and not really very costly. Normally I ride one up, but got the dual just in case, and past experiences helped there for me. No complaints from female passengers with the Sundowner...tomp dd50
If I need to do any real traveling two up, the RT is the perfect machine for that.tp
