Lightbulb oil change opinion

OK, so my buddy and me were having a dispute about this, so I figured I get the opinion from the masses...

For those of us that have to store our bikes for the winter...is it better to change out your dirty oil from riding all season before you store the bike or wait till spring and have fresh oil before you start the new riding season?

If the bike is stored in an area where the temp stays close to the same then change the oil in the fall. If the bike is stored where the temp changes you can get moisture in the case so chnge it in the spring. Remember the oil you are using is good quality oil and not the lube from years ago. It won't eat your bike if it stays in the till spring.

I agree, if it's in cold storage wait 'til spring and if it's in a heated shop/garage,
it's your call

I try to ride the bike year round so I can't say regarding the bike. But I stored my boat over the winter and I always changed the oil after the first use in the spring.

I vote for oil & oil filter change before storage to prevent acidic combustion byproducts "eating" the engine's internals......

+1 Change the oil and the filter. Use a cheap oil.... drain and refill in the spring.
