Default BCT Baffles.

I am currently running VH Big Radius 2-2 exhaust. At the moment it is just a little to loud for my neighbors in the morning. I have the stage 1 done to the bike as well. Have any of you that have run Big City Thunder Baffles noticed a increase in power as well as a more mellow sound when running these? Or are the effects negligible? Will they do more than the stock baffles that come with the pipes?

I have the QQ's in my Big Radius. They get rid of the V&H high raspy pitch & make them growl. A nice deeper tone but not really quieter. As far as adding power, you really won't notice. If you want them quieter cut the original baffles from the front end & add them behind (to the rear) of the QQ baffles. Leave a 1/2" in between the two baffles.

I have a pair of QQ baffles installed a week ago, it definitely sounds deeper, I think they are louder than VH stock baffles, not neighbour friendly really.

What is involved for getting these swapped in....DIY?

I have an '11 SB with the Big Radius 2:2 and like the idea of a deeper sound.

Thanks for any insight.

Take off the heat shields, unscrew the cap screws that holds the baffles in. One each baffle. Pull out the baffles but they may get stuck so you may have to use a little force. Vice grip, hammer, WD40 works well. Just insert the screw from the inside a few turns, put the vice grip on the screw at an angle, bang with the hammer & out she comes. To put the QQ's in you need to drill a 1/4" hole in each pipe so the QQ's are 6-7" from the end of the pipe. Fasten with bolt. Put on the shields. Done.

If you want to add a cut piece of the old baffle, use the old screw & original hole. Cut to size, insert.

Did you use the QQ Thunder Monster Baffles part number QBL 1845 with the V&H BR 2:2?

Very easy, the heat shields have to come off, I recommend taking the whole exhaust off cause putting the shields and clamps back on could be pain in the butt. It isn't hard to take the exhaust off anyway.

Removing the heat shields is a pain--i drilled holes in my VH black bigshots shields so that i can get to the baffle screw without taking off the shields--makes for swapping these out easy work

I had the V&H Quiet Baffles and they sounded good.

But, I wanted LOUD and still keep performance that baffles offer so I went Big City Thunder.

To me, the BCT's are loud! If you want quiet, those are not the ones.
