Default Wheel and bearing question.

Hey guys, got a rear wheel off eBay with a 25mm bearing. I have 2005 dyna super glide, regardless of the bearing size can I just swap out bearings and sleeves and all will fit? The wheel might be from a sportster? It's a 13 spoke mag wheel and looks identical to the dyna SG. Thanks guys.

It should fit just fine with the proper bearings. Sportsters used the same 13 spoke rear wheel. My father even put one from a Sportster on the front of his 2005 Sper Glide. It was an exact match for the original rear wheel.

Umm, might not be quite as simple. When they went metric with the axles they also messed with the depth of the bearings. Some are 15mm and some 20mm.

Put a steel ruler through your existing axle hole (sounds rude) and measure the distance between the outer bearing faces. On the new wheel figure out what depth bearings you will need to get the same distance. Also measure the inner bearing distance to see what sleeve you'll need.

Get that right and the wheel will drop right into the bike with the existing spacers.

Also... make sure the correct spacer fits the space inside your hub...
