Default shovelhead flh shocks on a fxdwg

I'd like to get covered rear shocks for my fxdwg ,but I don't want to pay $300+ for a set of progressives and I don't need a performance suspension.I've seen they make covers for flh shocks but not dyna shocks. So I'm wondering if flh covered shocks will work on a fxdwg?

They'll ride like a truck, ( too stiff,) I'd suspect.

I'm a big guy at 6'3 290lbs so it would probly ride pretty good with a stiffer suspension cause its a little soft right now .I'm just wondering if they will work on my bike.

The worst you'd have to do is get a shim kit for different diameter studs. So yes, they should fit.

I would find a used set from a Fat Bob. $50-$100 is normal for eBay or here in the classifieds. They are fully covered and provide a superior ride to the air shocks on my Ultra Classic. They were a dramatic difference from the stock Street Bob shocks and there is a reason H-D charges $400 for them as their "Premium" shock in the catalog.

I agree with AFMM3, i bought a lightly used set from a forum member for 100.00 shipped. Much better ride than the stock shocks i had and they look great also/

I'm probly gonna go find some flh shocks and try them and if I have to turn some sleves for the bolts on a lathe to make them work thats ok.I thought about locating some new fatbob shocks ,but after looking at them I don't like how they made the top mount covers look. With the flh shocks I think I can reuse my top covers which I like better.

Thanks for the replies guys

That's what I did ... $185 to my door ... take-offs from a dealership with supposedly 5 miles on them ... from the condition, seemed plausible ...

I like 'em alright ... got about 2,500 miles on them, so far ...
