clack clack noise

hey i tried to start my bike today and my lights and gauges came on just fine but when i tried to turn it over i got a loud and fast CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK. someone at work told me stator. ANY OTHER THOUGHTS?

2009 Lowrider 20k miles. daily rider.

Check all battery connections, and check voltage at battery. Anything above a 12.8 voltage is 100% charge. What is the mileage to work?

Sounds just like a low battery.There's a few things to check before going straight to the stator. Did you maybe leave the ignition on by accident? As supersenior said, check your connections and then put it on a charger a few hours. @ 20K miles your stator should still be plenty fine.
