Default belt tension issue?

After a ride my belt is a lot tighter then it was at the start. After a day belt lossens up a bit. When I check belt tension after ride with tool it is right on maximum. Worried it could cause damage because of high tension.

Any ideas would be great, thanks

You may find it tighter in spots, find that tight spot and adjust it cold.
how do you adjust it, on a lift or on the ground? it is different off the ground.

I have adjusted on a bike stand and then I checked it on the jiffy stand when cold, I use the correct tool and use manual for correct specs. My bike is a low rider and I also lowered it to 11 inch shocks.
It make sense now, the belt gets tight after a good run because of heat expansion on frame and pulleys. It just feels so tight after run it makes me worried it may damage bearings.

Thanks for the reply's, very helpful

I have found that a lot of harley techs overtighten the belt. I would rather error on being too loose then too tight.

I'm with Rooti. Better a little loose than too tight when talking belts.
