ok so how many fat bob owners would trade for a street bob?

rode a new streetbob and then the fatty, there was no doubt i my mine which one handled better. the braking and the bigger tires on the fatbob just made the bike handle better imho. and for night riding the dual headlamps are bright. and the over all appearance looks so mean is was sold me!

I had my heart mostly set on Fat Bob when I got mine but that Street Bob is just damn cool looking! I found the Fat I wanted & test drove it & a Street. That sold it for me - For whatever reason the Fat fit me better so there I went. My brother has a Street & we swap rides a couple times & have never regretted my decision to go with the Fatty.

That said, the reason I sometimes which I had gone with the street bob (since we all start off with them as canvases, after all) are:
1) Narrower tires = Better handling. Don't get me wrong the Fat Bob handles great, but I believe the bike would have better flick-ability with with narrower tires, which you can't put on the fat bob. The *** end is too wide and the front end has wide glide trees.

I switched the stock tires on my '11 FB for a set of Perelli Night Dragons. (Corny name, great tire.) Most cruiser tires are more square to increase stability. That obviously inhibits handling. The shape of the Night Dragon is less square than the stock tires and most after market tires, so the handling (aka "flickability") is awesome. Now the FB is agile, even compared to my K1300S.
I would have gone for Michelin Pilot Road tires, but they don't come in my size.
Incidentally, I wouldn't go for a SB. The skinny front tire and the generic rear fender and headlight are the deal killers for me. I did put a SB seat on my FB, though. When the pillion is off, the rear fender looks long and funky. And chicks dig it. ;-)
