Rented a '13 Wide Glide...
I was house shopping in Mesa, AZ over our 2-week Christmas break. This past Saturday, I rented a bike from Chester's for my annual dose of Desert/Sun riding while visiting family there. They were running a "December Special" where ANY bike was just $100/day. Must be a slow month for that price, and I could've had any model I wanted.
The 103 motor was very impressive; way more grunt than I need. The new WG is lower than my '06, and felt more like a FatBob to me. It felt shorter (fore/aft) and not as raked as my '06, and it handled very well. It has the look I see so many guys here going for, only without the apes. Got lots of looks and more than a few compliments on it. My riding partners all thought it looked really cool from behind, with the wide tire, stubby fender, blended tail light, and sidemount plate.
I'm glad I chose it to try. I was tempted to try a new RKC, but I figured the WG would be more of a departure between the old & new for the two models I own.
Just wanted to volunteer my impressions on the opportunity to sample a new bike. I would definitely recommend renting from Chester's in Mesa if you have a chance. They are good people to deal with, and there's lots of scenic rides nearby.
