I am going to install my brand new bags today and I was wondering for those who have had the bags on for a while, do they rub on the battery box alot...as in through the paint a lot? I know they will rub but I am not trying to go through the clear coat. I was thinking of putting some type of fabirc between the bags and the paint just to be cautious, any input? Thanks!
I have the wrinkle black cover on mine and haven't taken off since I put it on to even notice. I'm sure it is rubbing. If you have a gloss/clear coat finish, it probably wouldn't hurt to put something behind it.
Thanks for the response, I was hoping you would answer it because I stole the idea from your bike, haha. Ya I have the gloss so I am going to put something there. Do you leave it on when you wash your bike? How "water proof" is it?
yep, I don't ever take it off. I use some leather conditioner or saddle soap on it every once in a while. It keeps most water out. Any thing of value I keep in ziplock bags in it.
Those bags are so saggy, I made a backing plate to reinforce the leather, it seemed to work better. I don't recommend it to anyone, it looks good only.

I read somewhere that they have been making them thicker for some time now. The newer versions have been a success.
I ordered a Baxter Bag like in the pic. It's naturally saggy. I plan to experiment with it as a battery bag.
