Default Switchback engine case coating?

I'm a Road King guy so excuse me if this topic has been discussed. I threw a leg over a switchback at a dealer yesterday and I really like the way it feels - better than the AMF Superglide I rode many years ago. I noticed that the engine case covers weren't plated and I wondered if the protective coating that the MoCo puts on the aluminum is the same stuff they used to put on the AMF bikes. That stuff started coming off after about a year and you could either polish the covers or let them oxidize like about half the owners did. I love my 95" RK but I really want to ride a Switchback. How's the vibration?

Have had mine for 1yr 1/2, 12k. Have not had the vibration problems that some have reported, which typically were fixed by engine mount tweak, or the mounting bolt at the front of the muffler. The finish on mine looks the same. Have only washed it wish dish soap. Really nice bike.

Thanks for the replies. I'll see if I can get a test ride in a couple of months.

No vibration problem with mine.

However I did a few upgrades before I took it home.

To list a few, not all done at once I might add:

Mine had the vibration issue, it's all because of the exhaust. Make the mod or get a new system and it will go away. I'm complaining to the dealer and they did the mod but I still think HD should make a change.

As for the polished covers, I wish they were chrome and I probably will change them at some point
