HD 4" Speedo/Tach for CAN bus bikes
I know there are a couple other threads about this speedo, but I thought I'd share just how freakin' easy this is to do for the 2012 and up CAN bus guys.
Unlike the version for 2011 and earlier models, the box came with no instruction at all on installation and no data cable to transfer mileage from the ECU. The 2 page instructions only say to refer to the service manual for removal and installation, so I called the parts counter where I bought it and found out that this one is truly plug 'n play for CAN bus.
Simplified procedure:
1. Disconnect battery
2. Remove the 3 allen bolts from the dash
3. Flip it over
4. Unplug old speedo
5. Remove the 2 allens holding the old speedo
6. Install new speedo, using the 2 allens from step 5
7. Plug it in
8. Reinstall the dash
9. Reconnect battery
10. Turn the ignition on and follow the directions to set up the display how you like it
I think it took me longer to get the battery disconnected than it did to swap out the speedo.
There are hundreds of different color combos. I chose a nice green (surprise).

Which part number is that? It looks different than the one in the catalog.
Looks good though.

Sorry, I should've mentioned the parts info:
Part # 70900100A.
I previously ordered the 5" model by mistake because HD's website shows it fits 2013 FXDBs (it does not).
AND the correct 4" model does not come up on the website when you search by year/model bike, but the 5" does. Surdyke has the 70900100A for $214.
