Default Custom bars in the making

Hey folks, well I decided to go ahead and get some custom bars made for my street bob. It was a hard decision whether to go apes or tbars but I eventually decided to go with the tbars, sort of.

These bars are being built by Richard @ HDcustomfab, very easy guy to work with and will take care of you. I wanted something a little bit different from the typical tbars and didn't want to pay over $300 for wctbs so here they are! He actually found the picture online, along with a few others, of something I was looking for ( window bars ). I thought about the actual window bars so I could still use risers / clamps for the ability to be adjusted but didn't like how wide they were.

They are going to be 16" rise, 16 degree hand angle and around 27-28" wide. The bars should be getting powdercoated today in wrinkle black and hopefully have them in the next week or so.

I think they came out pretty good so far and I'm excited to see the finished product. Next step is to go and buy me a service manual and figure out if I'm going to need longer cables, which I'm guessing that I will but we'll see. There really is no function for the squared off top part, I just wanted a little different look vs the straight tbar.

I'll keep this thread updated as they get finished and eventually installed. My gladiator windscreen may end up going up for sale since it mounts on the top clamp and possibly will end up getting a quarter fairing or something along those lines.

Enjoy!

Will do! They should still sit my hands below my shoulders, I'm 6'3" with a long reach so hopefully they work out just right.

I just ordered a set of bars from him too! Should be starting em tomorrow. Those look cool!

And you're right, he's easy to talk to and he will go out of his way to make sure he makes a part EXACTLY the way you want it. If your bars are a testament to his products than I'm not worried at all...

He's also a vet, and I'm all about taking care of our own.
