Cool Mid Glide to Wide Glide conversion has finally begun...

Fired up the garage heater and started my Wide Glide conversion today. It went way faster this time around than when I remember doing it 2 years ago. I had everything off in about an hour.

Torn down:

Fat Bob trees test-fitted:

Fat Bob trees, my existing Street Bob forks, 2" Joker Machine risers test-fitted:

I really wanted to do the DLC black coating on the fork tubes but the turnaround time is going to be longer than I want the bike down for so it will have to wait until next year. However, I have a set of Rocket Bobs Shaved Nuts in black (yeah funny) that shipped out of the UK today.

Also, wanted to shout out Joe @ The Powder Pro for the fastest turnaround of custom work I ever had done. I shipped him my new bars and some other pieces on Tuesday and they are already on there way back to me. Here is a pic he sent me of my new bars:

Hope to have the rest of the bike up soon. Still waiting on my axles/spacers (which I paid for on Jan 2nd) and they still have not shown up yet, but thats another story...

Nice work man I can't wait to tear into mine. Hope it's as simple as you make it out to be.

I went with a fat bob axle and I'm gonna get my spacers custom machined.

This will be cool. How much rake does this add? Doesn't the WG have extra rake in the head and tree.

Fat bob trees have no added rake so you keep the same overall rake as the stock street bob set up.

Wide glide trees I believe have 3*

No can do. I already have a custom-built 21x3.5 -120/70/21 wheel/tire that I will continue to run. I am doing this conversion solely because I like the wider front end. The icing on the cake is that I am able to ditch the stock integrated risers and run whatever I like now.

I got wide glide front with the same setup wheel wise. I want to throw a 140 on there when the time comes.

I didn't need new front rubber this winter but I've been thinking when I do I wanna go with a wider tire.

Any idea what'll fit on the 3.5" rim?
