Default Pulley Swap - Clutch Spring Required?

Executing a swap of both pulleys on an '07 SB, going from 32/66 to 30/70. I see many of you upgrade the clutch spring at that time...

Is this a necessary component of the mod? If so, any reason to go SE vs Barnett vs anyone else?

not unnecessary, but a great upgrade... i have a Barnett, i like it cause i feel it is a bit more responsive than the SE... i also changed the ramps in my clutch cable cover to act as a easy pull clutch

I did my clutch cuz of all my other engine mods. It certainly wouldn't hurt to change a clutch spring...it's not that big a deal...but in truth, I think the stock clutch would do fine w/ the pulley swap. In fact, w/ the lower gearing, the bike spins up so much faster, there might even be less load on the clutch cuz ya can't lug it. Also, clutches can last a long time if ya want 'em to. YMMV.

I swapped my spring and I'm happy I did. It's not that big of a deal to put the old one back on if you decide the pull is too hard on your hand.

I think I'm going to go with the SE clutch spring, and like you said macnab, once I've taken the primary apart I'll have the experience to do it again in the future without too much hassle. Stoked to get this mod goin!
