Older or newer headlight globes better? Vs. 6024? Which is better for HID?
I assumed my '96 had a 6024 bulb in it and bought a headlight from a board member's newer scoot to upgrade it. When I took it apart last night, I discovered that the headlight had the replaceable bulb inside, even though it was glass (and factory HD). The plug's been replaced. I put the new plastic headlight in there and it's definitely not better and possibly worse. My plans are for HID conversion, and I'd intended to use the newer headlight globe with the clear plastic lens. Does it matter too much? Do you have to drill into the globe to install the HID? I do want high beam.

i assume your talking about the headlight bucket when you say globe correct? Anyhow to run any HID kit, you will have to remove the plug and enlage the hole to fit the new hid headlight harness and connectors threw it to get it to work. The HID's slim ballast will not fit inside of the headlight buckt. If you dont have a fairing you will have to figure out where you want to mount it. Some guys extend the ballast harness and place it right under there tank dash, or under the tripple tree with double sided tape. Hope this helps. Good luck.
