Default So...what's the hook for?

Does anyone know what the hook is for that's bolted to the rear of the back brake master cylender bracket. It is a piece of flat stock bent into a hook! I can't see any purpose for it!

Mine is not a hook but rather a bracket with a cutout that the rear brake line passes through. I guess my bike did not come with the Honda tow package!!!

Just guessing, but could it be there to hold the master cylinder..by hooking it on something... while you change brake pads???
