Default Key lock is a bit sticky all of a sudden

I bought a set of raingear off the eBay and found the dude's key and clicker in the pant's pocket. Out of curiosity I tried the key in my ignition and of course it didn't work. I did not crank it or anything dumb. Now when I go to turn the bike on using my key, you gotta wiggle it until it releases, like a poorly made copy. This is the same key I've used for a year without any issues, any thoughts on fixing it? Naturally it's the round key under the seat.

Thanks, guys.

My key was sticking so I used Dry Lube to lubricate it. worked like magic.
Dry Lube is nice because it does not leave an oily mess inside and lasts for a long time.

Yes powder graphite works great. Doesn't attract dust and grit. If you cant find that silicone spray would suffice.

I don't think the OP is referring to his key as sticking but it was caused by trying a key he found in some rain gear he bought.
it appears he is concerned whether damage to the tumblers in the switch/lock.
If you forced the key in it may have caused some damage. But I also recommend oiling the switch first.
I had a buddy that had a 09 cvo ultra and I had a 07 standard ultra and our keys would work on each others bike-switch but nothing else.

True, but inserting a different key will depress pins that have not been used and may be sticky causing the original key to stick. By lubricating the lock once and a while, it helps the pins bounce back easier and allow the tumbler to move smoothly. JMHO.

The best lube to try in this area is LPS1.
