Default Downtube VIN and info

I see lots of bikes on here that do not show the sticker with the bike info on the right side downtube. Are there any rules/laws against removing these? The VIN is stamped in somewhere on the frame.

What is the best way to remove it without marring the paint? I have a heat gun, so I would guess that is the way to go. I also have vinyl for a cover up if needed.

No rule or laws that I'm aware of. Heat gun works great to remove them!

Take it off! The VIN is stamped on the neck (in white) and I think on the motor too. No reason to keep that sticker on there unless you like to read while you wash your bike or something.

Thanks for the responses. I will take it off when I take off the reflectors.

Do the reflectors leave any goo marks on a brand new Denim Black rear fender?

If they do, just use some Goo-B-Gone and it will go away. Fishing line and a hair dryer works great or just let it sit in the sun and it will peel right off.

Do not remove under penalty from law. Never mind that is mattresses. Mine is removed. Great idea using the crayon JRK5892.

VIN is stamped on the frame and engine case. Good hair dryer will heat the label up and help get it off. If you have the original manual may be nice to stick removed label on some of the original documentation just to keep it.
