Default Metz ME 880s or Avon Cobras

Trying to decide between these two tires when I go to 18s on my Fat Bob. If they made the exact same sizes I was leaning towards the Avons. Except Metz makes a 140/70-18 and Avon only makes a 130/70-18. I kinda wanted the fatter tire in front. In the rear the sizes are the same except for the aspect ratio. The Metz is a 200/50-18 and the Avon is a 200/55-18. Metz has the sizes I want but Ive only heard good things about the Avons and not alot about Metz. Can I get some opinions from people running either brand? Thanks. Btw, rear tire width between the two is within 1 or 2 mm so that isnt a factor. I know it can be sometimes between brands.

Avons for more grip and less mileage, and Metz for less grip and more mileage.

I dont have experience with those exacts sizes. I am going with Avons this time around , my 880s were great though. I just wanted more grip this time around.

The Cobra's get my vote, one of the best changes done to my bike. I have more confidence in the bike with the extra grip, night and day difference over the stock rubber.

I just put an 880 on the rear of my bike after using a Dunlop and I was very surprised at how well it gripped the road. I will definitely be getting another one when this one wears down.

Great. Thanks for making me second guess again. lol. JK. I actually dont think the stock Dunlop on the rear of my bike is that bad. If the ME is better then Im sure I wont be disapointed if I go with Metz.

Anybody know of a reason I "shouldnt" use a Metz in the front and an Avon in the back?

Nevermind. Just saw that the 140/70-18 Metz is a bias ply. Looks like Im going with Avon Cobras front and rear.

This. The 880s are hard as a rock, don't hook up for ****. But you'll get more mileage out of them if they don't dry rot first.

Wait a minute there Spankadog! Avon makes a 140 front.I would go Avon I think you would be will be much happier. The Metz have a real square shoulder and to be honest will prob be reealy tight.Crazy thing is it's only 1/4" wider than your 180 (Avon). The Metz does look good though and has a lower pro but make sure it will clear ok.(It should) Pulley will need some trimming ether way.Look what I found ya.http://www.1130cc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149413 http://www.ebay.com/itm/SET-AVON-VEN...-/310411122486
