They are in your frame where your wiring harness goes in by the neck. You have to pull all of it out and youll see them.

Pull out the rubber plug on teh left side of the bike right by the neck and start pulling wires gently out.

Like he said - and getting the harness back in is NO fun either.

I'm going through it again now doing my tree swap. The harness may snag (connecters to the inside of the tube) so don't just pull - you'll have to jiggle it.

Now getting it back could be a challange - like clowns in a clown car - you can't believe it will go back in. I used a paint can stirrer and gently pushed everything back in. With my harness (I have an 2001 FXD) getting the smaller wires in first worked best.

Yes you can't push them back in, pull them from the rear. There is a loop which is accessed via the inside front of the rear fender. Rubber plug there also

Pull it back in from the hole in the rear fender. I unplugged the main harness and gently pulled it back in. I ended up with a bit of extra wire under teh seat, but there was room for it so it was fine.

When I pulled off that plug back there the loop didn't budge. I thought I might have been opening up another can of worms.

Next (if there ever is one) I'll give that a better try.
Thanks!

OK, take tank loose, put cardboard on head so tank does not scratch tank. Seat off. the pollution/overflow to tank on right side comes off, cut the tie to the plug on the left access side, then gently pull wires through the right side after a healthy dose of wd40. plug is easy to get to. seat comes off so you can feed the bundle of wires through the frame gently pulling from the front. It was easy, then pull them back, put on another tie to the plug, tight, and you are done. better to do it with two folks.
