Default stage 1?

Just a quick question, I bought my 07 bike in the fall it has V&H short shots staggard (think that is what they are) and just checked and the air filter has no back plate so I am taking it for a High Flow filter. My question is this how do I know if the bike has had the Stage 1 download? My bike is originally from the States (now in Canada) can I call the nearest dealer and give them my VIN?

Thank you for your time.

Cheers

So many people DIY their Stage 1. I doubt that the dealer will have any records. If they didn't hand you a programming device, look under the seat for a piggy-back controler.

thanks for the quick reply. I didn't buy the bike from a dealer I am the third owner and I know the 2nd owner didn't do the install. When I took the seat off I didn't notice anything but then again I wasn't really looking.

cheers

Was going to say they are the Big Shots Staggered, but you nailed it before I could reply, hitman02. I would look into getting the bike tuned, if there is no piggyback tuner under the seat. If one of the previous owners just put pipes on and a free flowing A/C and didn't have the bike tuned, then it's probably running really lean, since Harley's are already lean from the factory.

Thanks SGT... I am going to have to look to see if there are any pigtails. Now do I need to know if it had a dealer download inorder to tune with a tuner? especially if I go with fuelpak?

nope. if you get something like a fuelpak that allows you to just download the maps, it will over ride what has already been put in

oh ok thanks...I thought I had to know first because I thought when inputting what is on your bike on the webiste it asks if it has the download or not and will give you the map accordingly.

Cheers
