Default Street Bob ignition relocation - a kit

I've read through dozens of threads about relocating the ignition switch to the tank on Street Bobs.

Buying the Wide Glide dash is the most appealing but too expensive for me as over here the dash alone is £300 ($450!)

I don't like the method where the dash is drilled and the bolts exposed.

The best method I've seen is fashioning a plate for the tank bulkhead and mounting the switch there spacing it up with nuts. The **** retentive in me doesn't like the spacing method though.

I've been hoping someone would come out with a kit, something that pretty much looked factory for a reasonable cost.

I found this online and can't see it mentioned before.

I like this but the price ($220) seems a bit steep for what is basically a plate and retaining ring.
Anyone seen this anywhere else? Or anything like it?

This is a long shot but I don't suppose that kit is made up from Harley parts from some random model?

Default Ignition Relocation

That looks to be about as cheap as your going to get if you don't want the screws to show...You could have small studs welded to the underside of the dash after the hole is cut for the switch, but then you would have to repaint the dash because of the heat.
Or you could replace the stacked washers with phenolic spacers using the old method. Phenolic doesn't break down from weather or rust and are used in the aviation industry a lot.

You could order these and cut them down....

Thanks for the tip, I would definitely prefer phonolic spacers to a pile of nuts!

I like what he did there but I have the Kuryakyn V-Shield horn cover painted black which covers a tiny bit of fin damage from when the previous owner dropped the bike.

The tank is definitely where I want the switch, I might just keep my eye out for a WG dash on eBay on your side of the pond...

Another option, but it is not cheap is the 2013 fxdb dash.

Would a 13 Streetbob dash fit an older 06/07 speedo, or are they different sizes?

From what I understand, they are the same.
Does anyone that has a 2013 fxdb measure their speedo to confirm?

They are the same, like you've said though. Not cheap.

One thing I have noticed though it is has a chrome ring around the switch on the '13 bob. I'm wondering if the kit in my first post is just made up of parts from the new dash.

Probably not but I'm going to check out the '13 parts manual next time I'm in the dealer to make sure.
