Default First chip...and did it being stupid.

Had my '06 Super Glide since last April - no chips until today. Just got off, squatted down putting the cap over my heated gear connection and leaned in too far - had my helmet on and bumped the tank - chipped the paint. Sucks. Basic, vivid black bike, but just sucks. What do you think - touch up myself or let dealer or someone repair? Just don't want the clearcoat to start lifting and peeling off from there.

If it were mine, I'd just touch it up myself. You're gonna pay big bucks to have it fixed by a dealer. How bad is it?

Harley Touch up paint, apply, let dry, wet sand with 3-4000 paper, apply clear and wet sand again. You'll never know it was there looking at it. $35.00

I don't put too much thought into them, they happen when you ride a lot. I just clean the chip out, and use dupli-color universal. Don't clear or anything, just blend as good as I can by hand and ride on...

Not big, 1/2 the diameter of a pencil eraser, but you can see it. Thank you. I'll touch up myself and let you know.
