Default good deal on 2013 street bob?

I went to the local HD dealer today to talk some numbers on a 2008 street bob I had been eying up. It was tagged at $9,999, in good shape, V&H pipes, forward controls (I need them, being 6'4) and with 5100 miles on it. My original intentions were to low ball them with a cash offer, but I was informed that the bike is on consignment and the guy already refused a offer of $9000. So the salesman starts talkin to me about a brand new 2013 model in denim black with the mid controls. Tag on that was $14,039. He said they would throw the forward controls on for me and after a little talking (no negotiating on my part yet) he quoted me at $14,000 out the door. I told him I'd be thinking about it, and went home. What do you guys think of that number? Like I said I havent done any negotiating yet, but I plan to, and just wanted to hear yall's thoughts on it. Thanks in advance.

It's a fair number, but not a screaming deal.

I would take into account that probably the same dealer offering you the '13 is telling you not to bother with the '08....

This is true. But if they're not gonna budge on the number on the '08, I'm just gonna have to keep searching for the right bike since 10000 is my price limit. Id spring for the '13 if the price is right, but as of now its out of my range.

14 out the door with adding forward controls is a good deal.

The cost to you for the dealer changing mids to forward controls would be about $500, so throwing that in is a good deal.

Keep in mind it's March now & dealers are going to become less willing to deal and negotiate with warmer weather approaching. If you're gonna buy something I wouldn't wait too much longer.

We have good deals in northeast ohio and I'm actually looking at a streetbob currently. The one I want has the 103,forwards,drag bars, flake red paint and red wheels

http://www.westernreservehd.com/defa...t=&lng=&miles=

I think it's fair for 15000

It is a $180 option to get forward controls on a new '13 from the factory, but you will also need to spend $370 for a 103 engine upgrade. Total retail price = $13,529 without any other upgrades.
