Default Picking up another FXDX, maybe. Needs a motor.

Found another FXDX through my underground intelligence network. Lots of goodies, fairing, floating rotors, 6 speed, oil cooler, mikuni, steering dampener, nice seat, new tread. Oh yeah the bad, motor has a 10x10 sight hole in the bottom. Rod apparently let go @ 80mph and it was ugly. So at the very least an entire bottom end is in order and perhaps the whole shebang if the pistons clapped the heads or debris went throughout the motor. So my dilemma is such, H-D reman unit, used take out motor, build from parts, or pass on it totally. Deal would be my sporty and cash my way. Don't think I could get enough cash my way to even make a dent in the motor repairs though. H-D says 3k for a reman 88incher. But what fun is that? Lol.

i'd pass unless i had the dough to put into it. Reman or crate is gonna cost you both $$ and time, time not riding if you give up your sporty for it...

shoe horn a 103 into it, that'd be kinda cool

There is a few TC 124 out there on CL. A little to much power for my everyday ride. Still talking myself out if it. A guy had the whole S&S 124 kit including heads still in boxes for 3k Obo. Almost worth going for.

Sounds like a 120r would make a lot of sense at that point, depending on your budget.

Either way, I hope you scoop it up because your FXDX is the reason I bought and am building mine the way I am, and I'd like to see you do another one! Wish I had the money for yours when it was for sale.

If you can make it happen without giving up your sporty and have the room, do it. I would like to get project going after I'm done with my Road Glide. A FXRP or T, or a FXS
