There are 2 methods of adding forward controls with Dyna bikes with mid controls.
One does not use the shifter arm that comes out of the primary and uses a chrome cap.. The other uses the shifter that comes out of the primary.
If you are using the kuryakyn #9063 it does not use the shifter shaft coming from the primary but the do HD versions do.
So they are not interchangeable.
Being it is a kury that you have it will adjust a lot.
If you could tell us what you have in mind we might could help ya a little better. I have been playing around with forward controls the past few weeks. extensions, reduced reach adapters.
