Default Wire works fine

Didn't know what happened on my 07 FXDC, but shifted down from 3rd to 2nd normally while approaching an intersection. The shifter (mid control) stayed down. Pulled over and the front connection to the shifter rod was off. Completely gone! Luckily someone in an old truck had some wire and got the wired back together so I could shift. The dealer didn't have the part so the wire is still working as well as stock. The part should be in from the factory soon.

Since it works fine now, maybe I should just leave well enough alone.

Was it Genuine Harley-Davidson wire? If it isn't, it'll void your warranty!

I had an 03 Road King that would break a shifter rod end about every 10K. Finally ended up carrying some spares.
