Question 2012 Dyna WG front tire wear?

Posted this in the General section but a question there brought up a curious question...

Boils down to this:

after only 7100 mmiles on a brand new 2012 WG my front tire only has 1/32" of tread left. I <think> it has the Scorcher "31" but I'd have to dbl check that when I get home in the morning...

Someone asked if this kind of wear was normal for the Dyna's. I doubt the Dyna part of it has anything to do with it, but being the Wide Glide with the taller and narrower front tire... That might makes some sense.

So, For all you WG owners, does this milage seem low? What kind of milage are you getting on your front tires and what tires are you running?

Good on ya,

Junior

it appears I am not going to get much more than what you got but it is a factory 21 inch.
The smaller front tire shouldn't last as long as a 140 tire. that is how I look at it.
Just keep 40 psi and you should get maximum life from it.

6K miles on mine. No visible signs of wear.

Is it cupped or worn tread? Tire wear is very dependent on rider behavior. 7K miles for a front seems very low for a cruiser. A sport bike it would be normal

Have you been keeping up with your tire pressures?

I have seen this a lot on the later Wide Glides, especially with Pirelli Phantoms......Try a Metzeler 880 next time.
