Default FXDB Street Bob - Rear Suspension Bolts?

I'm swapping out the suspension on an '09 Street Bob and can't figue out what Torx bit to use in the lower bolts.

50 feels too small and 55 too big - is it possible that it's somewhere in between? Anyone know what it should be?

The manual is good for everything but telling you what tools you need...

Thanks a lot,
Matt

I can't remember which one I used, I did mine a while back. I do remember it was in a set I had... I'll check when I get home if no one responds by then.

Thanks a lot!

Everything I can find tells me it's a #50 but that really felt like I was going to strip them out... I'll hit them with some liquid wrench first.

If you do think to check when you get home, I'd really appreciate it.

Ya, if I recall it wasn't the snuggest fit. Just be firm but gentle, and you wont strip em. I've taken em off twice now and they are still in great shape.

I got mine out with a 50 then replaced the lower bolts with Grade-8 hex heads. I am slowly replacing all the torx with Grade-8

Not to hijack the thread, but I just put a grade 5 bolt on my lower shock mount where I mounted a side mount plate. Think I'll be OK or should I replace with a grade 8?

Pros and cons to grade 8 vrs grade 5.
Some think grade eight is too hard.
grade 5 should work no problem though.
If the grade eight breaks off flush, then drilling is a bit tougher.
I just reuse the stock bolts with a dab a blue loctite. No problem here.
