Caught a break in the weather last weekend, fired up the wood stove and slapped on some recently coated parts. Posted a question regarding black shields w/ chrome pipes several weeks ago - no examples avalible at that time...Here ya go

Thanks Swoop_In for runningparts to the shop for me while I was down w/ a rotator cuff repair!!!

Very nice.
I think that you made my mind up for me.
Did you paint them or are the powder or ceramic coated?

Thanx BlueShift,

Powder Coated - figured it was a relatively cheap experiment.

Looks good. Now all you need are some black SE pipes.

let us know what happens w/ that coating, everyone i talked to said that the powdercoats on the market today won't survive much past 400 degrees. those sheilds near the heads are gonna get quite a bit warmer than that!

Yep - have the PN jotted down. Like Waterman stated, I want to wait and see how the coating holds up before I purchase the WG shield ($20 to coat both shields). I agree, unless you remount the mids, the notch looks funky!

The wrinkle coat works great for my bike - it always dirty due to the limestone roads out here in the sticks. Kinda develops a 'patina' and beats the hell out of dusting the chrome when I reach my paved destination.

Your bike looks Bad *ss! Pefect blend of flat, gloss, and chrome. Im going for a similar look myself. I've got my scoot apart for a WG front end and some powdercoating, moneys tight and the barns cold, ... I'll post pics closer to March. Take care ......... Dan

Hey Boogie, thats nice.
I was thinking of doing something similar, i was going to drill about 6 one inch holes in the covers and paint it with bar-b-que paint, so you could see the crome pipe underneath, and stick on my black HD slipons, only problem is, there are too quiet as standard, i would need to drill out the baffles.anyway, now i have seen yours i think i wil give it a crack, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I think you just made up my mind, too.

Somebody suggested I do that, but I couldn't get it in my head what it would look like...

Now I know. Thanks, man!
