Default 2013 Street Bob - What should I pay?

Hey guys,

I will hopefully be back on a Dyna soon! Some of you may remember me.. been around here for a while with my 06 Street Bob. Traded that in last year for a 10' Wrangler. Got tired of having the bike as my only transportation.

Anyway.. I'm looking to get back on a Dyna (or possibly sporty) here soon.. hopefully by August.

Around how much should I be paying for a new 2013 Street Bob out the door? What did you all pay? I will be financing, if that helps any.

I'm debating between a Street Bob and a Sporty 48. Just want to do some more research before I buy.

Also, are you required to purchase insurance before leaving the dealer with the bike? I never had insurance on my last 'Bob. What happens if you don't continue insurance coverage when you finance with HD? I'd probably keep it on but I'm just curious.. they wouldn't repo the bike, would they?

Thanks guys!

Adrian

they wont let you leave the dealership w/o insurance, maybe if you throw it on the back of your jeep? but i had to get insurnace when i got my streetbob (my insurance was not open and they needed paperwork from them so they sold me insurnace on spot)

what color bob? base model? 96 vivid black? i would say w/o tax and fees your base price should be 12,3-12,9

Insurance depends on state laws and the financing institutions rules. You will have to check with both.

Go with the Street Bob. Nothing against the 48 but in the long haul I think the Street Bob will be the better investment and ride.

As far as insurance goes most banks who you are financing with require proof of insurance before the loan can be completed and you can ride off.

Also, consider trying to find a leftover from the previous year. You may be able to score a better deal that way.

As far as 96 vs 103 IMHO I don't think the 103 is worth the extra cost compared to the performance gains.

Agreed. You'll need the insurance, I did.

96 vs 103-all depends on what your goals are. if there is absolutely no way you will spend more than XXX dollars, then you may get more performance on a 96 with exhaust/breather/cams/tune. But if you are going to do major work in the long run, the saying goes "there is no replacement for displacement". Also resale value of the 103 will recoup the added cost over the 96, something to keep it mind.

The msrp for a Street Bob 2013 is $12,999. Add tax, DMV and dealer prep. You may get lucky at $14,800. Good luck

I walked out the door for 14,000 with a 2013 SB with forward controls, passenger seat, wind shield, and detachable sissy bar all installed by the dealer. If you purchase before the weather turns nice you may get something similar. I have the paper work to show it!

Get your calculater ready. Tally up the total. Subtract dealer prep and freight. Take the new number and and muliply by 0.89 . Add sales tax & Lic. fees. This will give you your price.

You can't finance anything without insurance. The creditor will check the status of your policy perdiodically, and if you let it lapse, the creditor will buy insurance for you, and add the cost to your note. The same goes for a house, a car, etc. The HD dealer will not let you take possession without proof of insurance. Call progressive, and you will get hooked up in one 15 minute phone call.
