Default Fuel gauge came loose

So Friday we had some awesome weather here in Missouri, so i took the bike out (06' Street Bob) for the whole day. About the last hour on the way home, I noticed the fuel gauge starting to wiggle around, then actually started to pop out, anyone have this happen before, and what's the best way to fix this issue? I put it back in as best as possible but still not sure how well its in there.

push it back in. if the clips are bad, few drops of super glue jell in there and it will hold it in, just 2 or 3 drops will do it. or 3m double side tape

Yes they are just pop ins and of course pop outs.
I had mine replaced under warranty.

That's just a sign you need to install a set of flush mount caps!
