Default Street Bob Primary Sump Plug

Hi guys - I need some advice. Just done my first oil change on my 'bike. All went well apart from trying to get the darn Primary Plug off. Whoever last serviced my 'bike must have used an air tool to put it back on.

When I finally got it out after half an hour the plug came out with some metal filings from the primary casing - went back in tight enough but I now have got a few oil drips. I change the O ring out too so I know it's not that.

Just wondered if any of you could advise if there is some way of sealing the plug better until the next oil change and stop the oil? Thanks for any help/advice given.

I use teflon tape on all my plugs...otherwise they will leak.

Did you put a bit of oil on the new o ring? If not you may have torn the new one.

All good advice! The torque spec on the plugs is 20 lbs/ft. If yours was that tight then you may have other damage to the threads! I have never put sealer on the plugs...just the oiled O ring with proper torque...never had a leak!
