To deal with the cold weather I finally gave in a got a windscreen. Harley touring quick detach. Soon as it warms up it will be off. Gotta admit the thing works great

That's how it started for me too, cold weather. Soon I started really liking the windshield all the time. It got to the point where I rarely took it off.

Paint it from the inside with some plasti-dip. Looks 1000 times better and you can just peel it off if you dont like.

I have been looking into them too with the pending long distance highway trips. Nice touches with your's, I like what you did. Cold weather and long highway rides would be much more tolerable. Good job and thanks for the ideas.

Yes, great at slapping bugs out of the air, mine fogs up with bug goo, gotta scrape it off almost daily but then again I put a fair amount of miles on her.

Enjoy...

Windscreens even help in a crash. My Memphis slim took a lot of the impact during my wreck. The bracing helped support the front of the bike while it was sliding down the road. The plastic screen broke and the chrome strip on the right side was badly scraped from the asphalt.

I too got the quick detachable. Harley makes a locking kit for it now. My lock is sticking but it hasn't been an issue since I never take it off anymore. After a couple years without it, I thought I would just use it on long rides, but it seem it's on almost all of the time.

Bought mine for highway and cold weather use, I practically never take it off anymore. No obnoxious wind noise, watery eyes & can have a conversation with the ol while cruising down the road
