Default michelin commander 2 vs avon cobra

Well fellas it is time for me to put tires on my bike and I am torn between the avon cobra and michelin commander 2. My bike is an 03 dyna lowrider. Any input would greatly be appreciated. 150 80 16 in rear and mh90-21 up front.
THanks,
Jay

I am in the same boat with needing new tires. I was looking at Metzler 880 for my 07 LR. My brother has a 00 LR and swears by his Avon's. He feels that they have great handling in both dry and wet weather. I have had Metzlers in the past and have always been happy with them but now I am leaning towards Avons as his bike really does handle well. I guess I will be taking some brotherly advice in the next week or so....

I now have the Michelin commander IIs and wish I had my Night Dragons back. The michelins don't have the grip in my opinion, but I ride pretty aggressively through the twisties.

Who makes nightdragons? Are the avon cobras known for being a grippy tire? Are they worth the extra money and how long do they typically last?

so this might be a silly quetsion but bear with me I am learning. Since the Commader 2's are known to run a little thin and I have a 150 80 16 back there now, could I safely get a 160 width Commander 2 to fit? Thanks,

Oh and I forgot I ride an 03 dyna lowrider with a wide glide front end and a bobtail rear fender.

So from what I have gathered from reading these two links the commander 2's sacrifice grip for treadwear. Does this sound correct to you guys? So what about the Avon Cobra's..........are they worth a sh**?

i just put the commander 2s on my bike ive been riding them for about a week now. they are ok. i have only gone through a couple big curves and they felt good, but one day i was feeling frisky and WOT after a stop while turning right and i spun them pretty good. it had only been a couple days since i installed them though.

I've been running Commander II's on mine for a little over a year now and have a little over six thousand miles on them. The grip is great and cornering is fine and quiet too. They still look like brand new so I can conceivably think I might just get over twenty thousand miles on them as the company promotes.
