Default headlight and handlebar connectors?

I am swapping out the handebars and headlight on my 05 lowrider, How do I acess the wiring connectors for both? I assume I have to remove or at least unbolt and lift up the front of the gas tank?

You can get by unbolting the tank, the quick fuel disconnect, and the vent tube and sliding it back but to be honest after all that you might as well just pull the tank off and make it easier for yourself to work.

Funny you should ask. I'm about to change out a headlight assembly on my 07 lowrider myself and it looks like (from manual) that we have to lift the tank to get to the connector. Hope somebody has a easier way. Can you just pull it out from between the tank and frame?

thats kinda what I figures, that it would probably be easier to to just pull the tank. This might be a dumb question....(my first EFI bike) but how do you disconnect the quick fuel disconnect?

I'm not for sure, but I don't think the factory wiring harness has enough "slack" to pull it out....so I think your in the same boat I'm in, have to just pull the tank.

The best way I can describe it is this: It's like a air-nozzle/tool to a air-hose... the nipple from the gas tank is the one you pull-up on. The hose connecting piece is the one you "pull down" on. Give it a twist and apply slight pressure downwards. I'm stuck bc of no area for proper ventilization to "purge" the line. I'm at the start engine until it stalls point. To continued....

Doing it with the tank on is very possible, just requires more work and can be a PITA. Just undo both the tank bolts and the fuel quick disconnect. The gently lift up on the tank. You can prop it up using a phone book or a wooden dowel rod through the top bolt hole on the tank.from there remove the plastic piece that is on the underside of the frame. You can then pull out the wires from the frame and do what you do with em. Best of luck. Oh and please be careful moving the tank around. Pull too hard and you could mess up the crossover line and have a nice mess on your hands.

Hey Thanson Mopar, How did your little project come out? I've run into a snag myself. can't seem to get the 3 wires from the headlight assembly to stay in the headlamp housing connector. Just wondering if I have to order a new one. Anyone else have any tips would be appreciated.
